    I'm doing well on Stokey cafes considering I live at the other end of town ...  The Kauri Tree Cafe is my favourite so far as I work my way up and down Church Street.  It's relatively small and feels more like a place to rest than to work.

    I should probably have ordered something more imaginative than a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel.  Not the Brick Lane variety but rather the larger mass-manufactured type, but still tasty.  Washed down with a bottle of old-fashioned lemonade.

    The coffee was good, too.  And next time I may have some cake.

    The menu is not extensive but the staff was so friendly that I am giving them a full four stars for that! Plus my husband enjoyed his flat white and the banana cake when heated up is lovely: moist and bursting with flavour.
